Designer Events hosted its Visiting Chef’s cooking school earlier this month with Chef Peter Laufer.
Laufer is from Houston’s Intercontinental Hotel and Table One restaurant.
In the class he entertained and taught us much about Bavarian cooking, which was right up my alley.
His techniques for potato cakes and red cabbage were so similar to my Bavarian grandmother’s recipe, yet he took us to the next level with the addition of a delicious duck breast stuffed with cornbread and dried fruit.
The perfect ending was a delicious Quark Strudel that paired perfectly with our Angel Riesling.
Join us for the next cooking party on February 7th with Chef Brett Montgomery where we’ll learn about making organic pumpkin soup among other items on his menu, from scratch.
What perfect weather for it.
